Head Automatica: Beating Heart Baby |

So, an update on the wedding front. I finally, finally picked up my dress on Friday before Spencer got home. It is now hanging suspiciously in the unused closet in the study. I also went ahead and threw down my own money for the SUPER FUCK YOU BRA which turned out to be a mistake, seeing as how it cost me - and this is true - 85 fucking dollars. What is this. What. Is. This. My tiara cost that much! This is a bra! I would digress, but because I threw down the money I was unable to do all my Christmas shopping. Spencer and Logan will just have to wait until after the first to get theirs.
Also, I'm getting it altered. The strap around the neck is just a little too loose and I'm getting a bustle put in so that my train doesn't annoy me drag on the ground all afternoon. That will be another eighty bucks on top of Spencer's and Logan's gifts and renewing my car registration. I also need an oil change. Oh, life. In any case, once that is paid for, all I have to think about is jewelry and my ensemble will be complete. Thank fucking god.
Anyway, we went to Keller this weekend for an early Christmas/looking at venues. We popped over to the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens to have a look around. After talking it over with the wedding director there, as well as each other, we found a garden we both liked, had plenty of space, and would have flowers in bloom in March. We then poked our heads in the reception halls, once again talked over the strange limitations that the Gardens had on using their reception halls, and finally deemed the Gardens worthy of our wedding. Ew. I didn't mean to make it sound like that. :-/
In any case, I am thrilled to report that we got the bride's room for two hours, the garden where the ceremony will be held for two hours, and the reception hall for four for a grand total of $700. Oh. My. God. I spent almost that much on my dress/accessories! I'm so ridiculously excited, yall do not even realize.
So, now that we have that major fucking weight off our shoulders, the next wedding thing to think about is a pastor to perform the ceremony and the menu for the reception. And rings, once we can afford it that is. And the invitations. Which means the guest list. And I have to register. And get my bridesmaids gifts. Oh and my bouquet. And the cake. Can we afford a cash bar? Would my family be okay with that? And decorations for the reception hall.
